Niamh's Note - September
Autumn is officially here, as we say goodbye to sunny days and lighter evenings we look to the month ahead. Heading back to the hustle and bustle of daily life and work routines. Not forgetting this season is also filled with crispy maple-coloured leaves, cashmere jumpers all captured with a chill in the air and a hot chocolate in hand. Yet, as any fashion disciple knows this month in the fashion calendar is equally as electric as it is hectic.
This year marks 40 years of London Fashion Week, where the fashion community will gather across London between the 12th and 17th of September to celebrate and appreciate the latest collections of over 250 British based designers. From emerging talent taking over the DiscoveryLab, such as Nicole Zisman and FRANCESCA LAKE, presenting on Tuesday the 17th. To long term favourites such as, ROKSANDA and Erdem presenting on Sunday the 15th and Burberry, presenting on Monday the 16th. However, the ones that are the rising stars of this year’s fashion week would be Chet Lo, an Asian American designer known for his 3D spiky knitted fabrics and Harris Reed, known for their exaggerated silhouettes. To Simone Roche who over the past few years has gone from strength to strength and Harri, who designed Sam Smiths iconic Brits red carpet look. Alongside the evening events where the fashion community comes together to network and debrief about the collections of the day. Over the six days every inch of the fashion world be on show for those to appreciate, scrutinise and revel in.

NOWLAN 2024 Collection Campaign
Whilst the Summer 2025 collections will be on display for all at September’s fashion week we look to September’s fashions trends. Heritage tweeds, checks and herringbone, think royalty. Yes, from long oversized coats to puffer jackets adorned in these rich heritage patterns. Key to an oversized garment is the use of a bold shoulder, think 80s power dressing on a new scale. Whether is extended shoulders, dropped shoulders or shoulder pads all are welcome this season. If you know me, you will know that I love a bit of sparkle from time to time, from sequins to tassels all are welcome, so don’t forget to add a bit of glitz to your wardrobe.
